Access to the Internet using a proxy server

Proxy servers (servers, brokers) are used to organize a local area computer network to the Internet. Using a proxy computer user requesting the necessary information to the server and the server is an intermediary receives the necessary information from the Internet. This user's computer is not connected directly to the Internet that provide information security for computer and server network. Use a proxy server is appropriate in the case where there is no need to have their own dedicated server on the Internet with the real IP-address and required only a few services online, such as Web browsing, receiving files from ftp-servers to communicate with a program of urgent messages, etc.

In computer network NAU currently has two server-mediator:

HTTP-proxy - a server intermediary for browsing, get files from ftp-servers to communicate with a program of urgent messages (if these programs support the work with HTTP-proxy or HTTPS-proxy).
SOCKS-proxy - a server intermediary for browsing, communicate with a program of urgent messages, various JAVA-programs (eg Internet Banking) and others.
